Congrats Ilya & Colleen

Ilya and ColleenMy long-time friend Ilya announced that he and Colleen finally got engaged last week. Apparently he thought he better catch up to me with my wife of 7 years and 2 kids. Okay, so maybe not - it seems that I have a lot of catching up to do on the music front. Since I left his band back in 1997 I’ve been involved in zero bands. He is releasing track after track of gooohd music (btw, he uses his stage name Ian Jameson on this site).

Ilya, Colleen and LilyIn any case, I think the last time I saw (or met for that matter) Colleen was when she and him came out here to Massachusetts in 2003. We had a great time biking on the Minuteman Rail Trail into Cambridge - before I was into biking, and before my son was born, and my daughter was wee small.

Hopefully we’ll get a chance to see the happy couple soon, maybe over the winter holidays, or next time I bike to NY. Actually, Ilya is in Florida now studying - so maybe I should bike down there.

Tev At his best.

Silverware

plasticutensilsOk, now this may sound a bit odd, but ever since high school, I’ve been searching for the perfect set of silverware. I got some new silverware, pretty close to the ideals I’m looking for! But who says you have to settle on one set of silverware? Perhaps in 6 months or a year I’ll switch to another set. It’s more about the questing than the having.

Ok, so I thought it might be funny to mock my friend Tev’s post about his silverware, until I realized that he is a long-time silverware nut. His latest post is not the beginning. I found a post and picture from back in 2003. Should I laugh or be concerned? Hey, but who am I to talk?

toiletpaperworldNow, even better - when I was looking for a picture of my ideal plasticware I found this fantastic site!<sarcasm />:
